EuropeanMakerWeek OFFICIAL LAUNCH was held on  October 18th

EuropeanMakerWeek ,“Waiting for MakerFaireRome- The European Edition”, is an initiative promoted by the European Commission and implemented by Maker Faire Rome  and  The OpenMakeProject in collaboration with Startup Europe.

While waiting for #EUmakerweek17 to start… makers, designers, artists, manufacturers were at the opening of the EuropeanMakerWeek at European Parliament to make some noise and get everybody on the same page with makers trying to open-up manufacturing-

Un unparalleled journey with makers, visionaries, game changers, politicians and influencers to discover cutting-edge experiences from across Europe, experiment and test prototypes and debate how to shape the future European policies for makers and industry.

EuropeanMakerWeek saw Indy Johar and Alain Heureux, as keynote speakers.

BluRhapsody, Limix, VRLab Brussels & Mozilla A-Frame, 3DLan, OpenLab Madrid, Werkemotion and many more presented their innovations.

During the event, chaired by VicePresident Telicka and MEP Pirinski, a group of innovators and visionaries told their stories, inspiring how makers and manufacturers can collaborate to create the industry of the future.

The aim of the European Maker week is twofold: to create awareness about the importance of the maker culture and to build bridges between local authorities and media and the main players of their own local makers ecosystems.

The event showcased how partnerships between makers and industry can develop cutting edge technical innovations with the potential to address societal challenges.

It was addressed on how the Maker movement, an emerging and dynamic social technology-based movement embracing ‘Open Manufacturing’, can become a new paradigm for production, closer to people and local communities.

Creativity and building up a new ecosystem is crucial to innovation!

European Maker Week will be happening from 23 to 29 October Europewide. Do you want to organize an event in your country? Have a look Here
