  • Bachicoltura: an activity to be re-invented with new technologies. This project calls for creating a mechanical and electronic reel governed by two motors: one capable of governing the rotation speed and, where necessary, the locking of the wheel around which the thread is wound; and a second one that can manage the cross-wise shifting and distribution of the silk threads, keeping them from overlapping on the reel with each turn. The prototype of the reel and the silk thread content reader is part of the supply chain project developed by Zagarolo’s Associazione di promozione sociale Sinergie, which starts from the cultivation of mulberry plants and silkworm farming and continues all the way to producing and marketing the thread.
